AI readiness, strategy, and roadmap
An AI readiness assessment that ends with a roadmap you can act on
What it is
An AI readiness assessment looks at where a company wants to go with AI, what systems and knowledge it has today, and how comfortable its people are with the tools, then recommends what to build first. At MKTNG that's the first three of our six steps: goals, a systems audit, and a roadmap that carries a fixed price for the first build.
You can't tell whether you're behind or about to waste money
Every vendor you already pay has added an AI button. A competitor says they've automated their whole front office. Your team is split between people who use ChatGPT for everything and people who won't touch it.
What you need is a read on your own company from someone who has built these systems and will tell you when the answer is "not yet."
Try the five-minute version first
Ask two people on your team the same question: "Who are we, and who's it for?" Have each use whatever AI tool they normally use.
You'll get two different answers. Nobody's wrong. Nobody typed in the whole company, so each tool guessed at the rest. How far apart those answers land is a fair first measure of your readiness, and it costs nothing.
What most firms call an assessment is our first three steps
Goals. We start with where you want the company to be. You do most of the talking. We also ask how your team feels about AI tools right now, because that sets how fast anything can roll out.
Systems audit. We document what you run: the CRM, the shared drive, the estimating spreadsheet everyone's afraid to touch, the knowledge that lives in one person's head. It takes as long as your systems require, so we don't promise a duration before we've looked. It's done when the systems are documented.
Roadmap. Which work gets an agent, which needs plumbing first, and what gets built first. This is the first time a price exists: a fixed number for the first leg, starting with a Groundwork foundation for one department.
It begins with a Working Session, the first meeting of step one.
The assessment is written by the people who'd build it
A strategy written by people who won't build it tends to recommend whatever sounds best in the deck. Ours is written by the team that has to ship it at the price we quoted. We run our own pipeline on the same architecture, and we've run a Revenue Agent for BrightWork Realty Advocates since June 2026.
If the roadmap says you're not ready, or that the first move is cleaning up your CRM, that's what it'll say.
When you're ready to build, that's AI implementation. Sacramento-area companies can start here.
It starts with a Working Session.
One conversation with your team about where you want AI to take the company, and what you're working with today. It's step one of six, and the start of Discovery and Roadmap.

Questions we get
What is an AI readiness assessment?
An AI readiness assessment evaluates a company's goals, current systems, data and documented knowledge, and team comfort with AI tools, then recommends where to start. MKTNG's version ends in a written roadmap with a fixed price for the first build.
What should an AI readiness assessment include for a 50-person company?
Business goals in the owner's words, an inventory of the systems in use, where company knowledge lives and who holds it, how each role uses AI today, and a sequenced plan that names the first department and the first build.
How long does an AI readiness assessment take?
The goals conversation is quick. The systems audit depends on what you run, so we set the schedule after we've seen it.
Is this an AI strategy or an AI audit?
Both. Goals are the strategy. The systems audit is the audit. The roadmap joins them and puts a price on the first step.
What does it cost?
We don't publish pricing. You'll hear a range by company size in the first conversation, before you commit to anything.
What is a Working Session?
The Working Session is the first meeting of step one. We ask how the work happens today and where you want the company to go. Book it from the contact page.
What is Groundwork?
Groundwork is the structured record of your company that everything we build reads from. The roadmap starts with it, scoped to the first department, in open-format files you own.
