AI for Communications Teams

Your voice. Your knowledge. Built into the AI your team already uses.

Anyone can buy AI seats. We build the record underneath them, so every tool your team touches works from the same facts, sounds like your organization, and gives your people back the work only they can do.

AI for communications teams means Groundwork, the structured record of your organization, connected to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or whatever your team already uses, plus a small set of assistants set up for the work you do every week. Every draft starts from your record instead of the model's guess.

Ask three people in your company the same question. You'll get three different answers.

Try it this week. Go to three people on your team and have each one ask whatever AI they use: Who are we? What do we stand for? Who is this for?

The answers come back different, and often wrong. Each person built a different picture of your organization one prompt at a time. The tool only knows what the last person typed into it. Nobody typed in the whole company, so it filled the gaps with guesses.

This holds even if everyone's on the same tool. Same ChatGPT, three people, three private histories, three versions of you. Give a team AI and everyone speeds up. If each person is working from their own version of your positions, your voice, and your market, you've made everyone faster at pulling in different directions.

We write your company down once, then connect it to the tools your team works in.

The fix is a single place your knowledge lives: your positions, your history, your voice, your audiences, structured so an AI can read it directly. We call it Groundwork. Every tool your team touches pulls from the same record, so everyone works from the same understanding of who you are. Written in the Open Knowledge Format, an open specification from Google Cloud, in files you own.

The knowledge, in one place

Your positions, your facts, your history, the claims you can make and the ones you can't. Structured so your tools answer from your record. It stays put when people leave, and the next hire inherits it.

Your voice, encoded

How your organization actually writes: the words you use, the ones you avoid, the register each audience expects. Built in, so a first draft already sounds like you and nobody rewrites generic output back into your own words.

Assistants set up for your real work

Configured for the things your team does often: the briefing, the talking points, the member update, the media response. A small set of tools shaped to how you work, running on Groundwork so they never freelance.

Communications people build it, and review what comes out.

We're a communications firm that builds these systems. The people who set up your tools have spent their careers in communications, not software: NBA front offices, a governor's press office, statewide coalitions, and infrastructure projects in front of public boards. We know what a wrong sentence costs, because we've been the ones who had to answer for it.

That's why the goal is never to replace your team. Your team's judgment is the work. The AI takes the parts that don't need a person: the first draft, the lookup, the format. Your people spend their hours on the relationship, the call, the decision.

A quarry permit, approved 5 to 0

Hat Creek Construction spent three years in front of Lassen County on the Skyline Aggregate & Recycling Facility, a 460-acre greenfield quarry with a 50-year permit. We ran the communications the whole way: the public commitments, the community story, every hearing document saying the same thing. On August 25, 2026 the Board of Supervisors approved it unanimously.

Three organizations, one voice

When the CPUC required PG&E, SoCalGas, and the California Energy Commission to report jointly on gas research for the first time, three separate organizations had to appear as one program. We built the communications architecture that made them read as one.

Our own record runs the shop

MKTNG's website, proposals, and morning briefing all read from the same Groundwork. When our position changes, we change it once.

How we work →

A product, when the tools didn't exist

GoldenDoodle AI started inside MKTNG and now runs independently as a communications platform for consultants and the organizations they serve. Same principle, at product scale.

Built for teams whose words carry weight.

Strategic communications and PR firms. Associations that speak for an industry. Infrastructure and construction companies with a project in front of the public. Mission-driven organizations whose audience has a long memory. Small teams doing high-context work, where the wrong sentence has a cost.

If the goal is cutting headcount, we're the wrong build. If the goal is your team doing more of the work only they can do, that's what this is for.

Six steps. Same as every build we do.

Goals, systems audit, roadmap, foundation, managed operation, customer success. Discovery and Roadmap is the first three, run with your communications team, and it ends with a written roadmap that starts with Groundwork for your department. Foundation is where the record gets written and the first assistant goes live on top of it. The last two are the relationship: a service agreement, a named owner on your side, training shaped by where your team sits with AI, and drift caught early.

How the six steps work →

It starts with a Working Session.

One conversation with your team about where you want AI to take the company, and what you're working with today. It's step one of six, and the start of Discovery and Roadmap.

Questions we get

Why do different people at my company get different answers from AI?

Because each person's AI is working from its own picture of your organization, built one prompt at a time. Nobody typed in the whole company. Groundwork gives every tool the same record, so the answers line up.

How do I get AI to write in my organization's voice?

You encode the voice once: how your organization actually writes, connected to the tools your team uses, so the first draft already sounds like you. Prompting for tone one message at a time does not hold. A voice layer in Groundwork does.

How do I stop AI output from sounding generic?

Generic output means the AI is answering from its general training instead of your organization's knowledge and language. Connect it to Groundwork and the answers come from your record.

Can AI know my association's positions and history?

Yes, when that knowledge is structured so the tools can read it directly. Set up well, the AI answers from your positions and your history rather than guessing, and it stays current as those positions change.

What happens to our AI setup when a staff member leaves?

If the knowledge lives only in prompts individuals wrote, it leaves with them. In Groundwork, the knowledge and the voice stay in place, and the next person inherits a working setup.

What is Groundwork?

The structured record of your organization that everything we build reads from: what is true, how you talk, who you serve, what you will not say. Written in the Open Knowledge Format, an open specification from Google Cloud, owned by you.

Do we need to replace our team with AI to get value from it?

No. The value is in giving your team back the routine work so they spend their time on judgment, relationships, and the decisions only they can make. Replacing people is a different goal, and one we don't build for.
